We strive to share our expertise with each patient to inform them of all aspects of their visual health, preventative eye health, and eye care products. Dr. A.J. Johnson
Dr. Johnson is the new owner of Chelsea Vision Care and practices as a primary care optometrist. He graduated with distinction from the Michigan College of Optometry in 2014. He practices full-scope optometry, which includes diabetic eye exams, glaucoma evaluation and management, pre- and post-operative surgical co- management, and other forms of ocular health evaluations. While glasses and contact lenses are the staple of his practice, he enjoys educating patients on the health of their eyes to ensure vision is experienced and preserved to the fullest potential.
Dr. Johnson enjoys spending time traveling and golfing with his wife, Sara, who he met in optometry school. She practices in Adrian as an ocular disease specialist. They also have a new addition to their family: Their daughter, Elle, was born in September of 2020. Dr. Johnson loves attending sporting events, almost any type of candy, and all things golf.
Katie Gutowski
Katie does it all! With 20 years of experience as an optician, she wears several hats at Chelsea Vision Care. She handles all of the practice financials, verifies insurance benefits, performs diagnostic testing for patients, fits and dispenses glasses, and consults on IT and software management.
Along with all of her responsibilities at the office, Katie has three children at home that keep her busy with school and sports. She is also a lover of history, so she often fills those rare moments of free time reading history books.
April Helm
April has over 30 years of optical experience, and when it comes to eyewear, she can do it all. Her expertise and advice on selecting frames and lenses not only has patients looking great, but seeing great as well.
April is the proud mother of two children and five grandchildren, and she loves spending as much time with them as possible. When she’s not helping patients in the optical, she enjoys exploring nature, cardiovascular exercise, and time with her two dogs Skye and Gracie.
